Both HandyHands and Lacis have the new japanese tatting book. It's title (now that I have it and can see it properly) Is Tatting & Beads Graceful Jewelry. It is chock full of necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and a strap(cell phone or scissors striver type thingy) The thing I didn't expect, that is a great concept, is that the tatting motif is used mostly as a bead. Add the motif bead to other beads and you get very pretty and delicate jewelry.
I would recommend this book. There are more than 30 designs in this book. Plenty of diagrams. NO English. (well very little english)

Very cool! Thank you for the little "sneak preview" of the book! It sounds like an awesome book. As soon as I have some extra spending money for tatting I'm going in for that book and some of that Lizbeth thread I've been dying to try! :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I'll wait and see if someone has it on Lace Day here, only one week away! I can almost visualize the beads....kinda like Karey's tatted beads? We used them for holly berries.
ReplyDeleteGuess what! Guess what! I got my California State Tax Return and I took some of the money and went to both handy hands and lacis! Got a TON of the new Lizbeth threads at handy hands, but since they didn't have the new japanese book posted yet and lacis did I got that same japanese book at lacis! As a matter of fact, it just arrived today! Oh, happy day! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteHope you stop on by for my 1st Blogoversary/100th post celebration! I'm even having a giveaway! Do come on over! Everyone is invited!!! :)
